Are You Qualified to Receive Medicinal Marijuana?

Since the Obama administration has been in office, the DEA has stopped cracking down on medical marijuana dispensaries. In Colorado, possessing medicinal marijuana is not a crime if you have a card and don’t carry more than 2 ounces of usable marijuana on you.

Because of the decriminalization of medicinal marijuana, there are a lot of Colorado residents who are curious if they can qualify to receive this treatment. Let us help. At Medical Marijuana Listing, we’re committed to helping patients who qualify for treatment get their cards and find licensed dispensaries for purchasing their marijuana.

With the information below, you should be able to determine your eligibility for medicinal marijuana as well as the process for how to get it.

Who can get medicinal marijuana?

There is a wide range of illnesses that can be treated with medical marijuana. If you have one of these following conditions, visit a licensed physician to determine if this treatment is right for you:

  • Glaucoma
  • Cancer
  • HIV/AIDS
  • Severe nausea
  • Seizures
  • High levels of pain
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Epilepsy

Of course, every medical case is different as each patient has unique needs. The only way to know for sure if you’re eligible to receive medicinal marijuana is to visit a licensed physician near you.

Applying for a medical marijuana card

How can you get your medical marijuana card? The process is actually pretty easy. Just follow these simple steps.

Step #1: Get written proof from a licensed physician that your medical condition warrants the use of marijuana treatment.

Step #2: Fill out your application. Make sure you include everything required in your packet (e.g. note from physician, copy of your driver’s license, notarized signatures, processing fee, etc.)

Step #3: Always check your application closely to make sure it’s totally accurate. A mistake on your part will lead to rejection of your application.

Medicinal marijuana dispensaries

There are hundreds of medicinal marijuana dispensaries located all throughout Colorado. If you’ve gotten your state card, you can visit one of these dispensaries to purchase your medical marijuana.

In order to buy marijuana, you must have your medicinal marijuana card with you. Otherwise, the dispensary will be unable to sell you anything. Make sure your card is current, and keep it on you at all times.

I just need to hopefully elimenate the current medications

I was hoping that I qualify for this, so I can eleminate the current medications I have been on for years. For; severe panic/anxiety disorders, also nausea, headaches (tylenol), and also moodswings.... I am not asking for the medical marijuana for recreatiomal use, I am just not liking to have to keep up with taking all meds on time, and also the potential damages on my body that they say these medications are doing or could eventually do to it.... I am hoping to be seeing you'll soon.. Thank you,
April Reed
